ABOUT
Hey! I'm Rachel and I love what I do.
I've been hooked on UX design ever since I attended my first human-centered design workshop in high school. Since then, I've sought every opportunity I could to become a better designer, researcher, and advocate for design and the people who experience it.
Chasing my dream led me to study Graphic Design at NC State University and work as a UX / UI Design Intern for Module, BCG Platinion, and currently, as a Product Designer at nCino. Through these experiences, I learned to enjoy every part of the holistic design process, from research to pixel-pushing - and all the messy complexity in between. As a Product Designer at nCino, I'm constantly honing my craft and learning new things.
I'm curious, driven, and genuinely excited to tackle any challenge that comes my way. I'm an avid learner and I'm always looking for opportunities to grow as a designer.
And I love what I do.
Seven true facts about me:
I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I currently live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
I love spontaneous dance parties.
My favorite shape is the trapezoid (but only because it's made of two triangles and two triangles are better than one!).
I spent every summer of my childhood living in a rustic (as in no-running-water-except-what-we-could-pump-from the-river rustic) cabin in the middle-of-nowhere Canada. (And these were some of the best times of my life)
I enjoy crafting playlists for every mood. Ever wondered what octopi would listen to at a party? Iāve got a playlist for that.
I'm a big biology nerd, plant lover š² šµ š±, and aspiring biomimic - nature is my biggest inspiration and I dream of a world where biomimicry is an integral part of every designer's toolkit.
I am always down to get coffee (or tea! tea's cool too).
